Nonwoven Technology

We’re committed to innovation and are always looking at new ways to improve our products. In particular, we’ve invested heavily in more sustainable options – ideal for businesses looking to reduce their impact on the planet.

Using Innovative Technologies.

At Edward Clay & Son, we bring over 150 years of experience, commitment and innovation into the no-woven products we produce. Using both traditional and cutting edge technology we can deliver exceptional products to our customers.

With our textile pulling machinery we can break down unwanted garments and factory offcuts into flock which in turn can be transformed into a variety of sustainable felt products.

Our Airlay technology enables us to manufacture needle felt waddings to a high production rate and quality to meet the demands from small to large volume customers.

The Garnett / Carding equipment we employ can turn loose fibre into strong high or low loft products, making them suitable for a variety of sustainable markets where alternatives to man made oil based products are used.

Fibres can be blended in an infinite number of combinations, taking advantage of their individual properties. For example, wool for fire retardancy, hemp for strength and cotton for comfort.

Natural Fibre Felts
