Needle Punch

The needling process, also known as needle punching, is a traditional method of manufacturing producing felt products to a vast array of applications.

More reliable and stronger fabric.

At Edward Clay & Son, we have been proud to serve industry since 1870, but our commitment to innovation and excellence has never wavered. Utilising cutting-edge technology and innovative solutions, we are dedicated to delivering the highest quality products to our customers.

Needle punching is a sustainable method of felt making without the need to utilise expensive and environmentally damaging gas in the process. Here, fibres are mechanically interlocked using barbed needles which make it possible to also attach a variety of backing fabrics to the felt.

Ideal markets such as mattress making, horticulture and packing insulation can take advantage of sustainable needle punch felts and waddings.
