A Visit to ITMA 2015 Milan
In the middle of November 2015 representatives of Edward Clay & Son Ltd attended the Integrated Textile and Garment Technologies Showcase (ITMA) in Milan, Italy. The show was held between the 12th and 19th November and has been the world’s most established textile and garment machinery exhibition since 1951.
The event displayed the latest manufacturing machinery in the textile industry from over 1,600 exhibitors. Almost 123,000 visitors attended the show from 147 countries. As well as machinery the show also contained conferences on a various number of topics, research and innovation areas and a key focal point of this year’s show was sustainability.
A sustainable business is any organization that operates in environmentally friendly or ‘green’ activities to ensure that all processes, products, and manufacturing activities appropriately address current environmental concerns while maintaining a profit. In other words, it is a business that meets the needs of the present world without compromising the ability of the future generations to meet their own needs.
Here at Edward Clay & Son we are always looking towards to the future with aspirations of moving into new and exciting markets and improving our sustainability through reducing our waste levels by maximising our recycling capacity. Research and development is a key aspect of our business as we are constantly on the lookout for the next breakthrough product whilst still striving to meet our current customer’s needs. This trip has given useful insights into the future for Edward Clay & Son Ltd and the possibilities that may be available in the months and years to come. Not to mention a taste for some fantastic Italian Wines!
The next exhibition, ITMA 2019 will be held in Spain at Fira de Barcelona Gran Via fairground from 20th to 26th June and we are looking forward to seeing what new developments this brings.
